Why does the updater only run when I launch an Adobe program? If I'm *launching* an Adobe program, it means I'm *about to do something*, which is the LEAST convenient time for Adobe to tell me to quit all my programs (including Firefox and Outlook) so it can run the updater. Grr...

-Very true, how about doing updates when you close a program instead, or at least asking when you want them done and then have it scheduled.

-YES. Adobe has what appears to be tons of contempt for productivity. The tool bar has a link to their website. Yeah, just what I want to do - stop working and mess around in their website. I can see why that's right next to the "select" icon!?

-Ehh... The argument against this is that you don't want the update service to constantly run in the background and taking up memory. Example: Google Updater

-I agree it slows down my work and gets in the way.
